Hi all I start to make some personal project now : The first : The Knight of Dawn. Comment and Fav* are hightly apreciate I always answer to your comments
This is pretty awesome. Okay first things first the shading could be smoother and maybe more better on the hand as there is not much shadow on the hand making the fingers appear 2Dish. The face and eyes and hair are freaking amazing. The background is not too great it gives the who image a 2D feel. When making background you need a middle ground too and the background needs as much detail as the person who is in the image. As it seems you got lazy with the background. Only other thing is the top bit to the helmet looks weird.
There's a lot of words that come to mind when I see this, but the first word that came to my mind was "Radiant". The lighting in this piece is beautiful, and The textures of the armor are easily noticeable without being too over-detailed. The background, while fairly simple, is stunning, and really gives a sense of location to the piece. The facial textures are a little less realistic than the rest of the piece, but the hard shading brings out the face more, and I think this piece really proves that perfect realism is not always the most engaging. The eyes have a gaze that look directly at the viewer and the steely blue color reflects the heroic nature of this brave knight. The filigree on the helmet is gorgeous, as is the entirety of the helmet itself. The chainmail is well detailed with a simple method, and does well to not take focus away from the eyes. The hair and tuft of the helmet are softly shaded, but visible strands still give it a feeling of shape and realism. Overall, you did extremely well, and it is definitely a piece to be proud of.
<I walk in, wearing a black suit of armor with a longsword strapped to my hip, and carrying a shield with a raven embossed upon it> <bows, and says in a deep, raspy voice> Knight of Dawn, meet the Knight of Dusk.
